If burning any herbs as loose incense, use only a small amount in a suitable heatproof container and ensure the space is well ventilated. Bay leaves can produce considerable smoke and are best used in non-burning spellwork. Do not deliberately inhale smoke. Never leave burning materials unattended and keep away from children and animals.
